Pax8 shares a faster path to AI revenue for MSPs

Pax8 is expanding its AI strategy to help MSPs buy, broker and manage AI agents rather than develop every solution themselves. As ChannelPro reports, the company's evolving managed intelligence provider (MIP) vision emphasizes helping MSPs deliver measurable business outcomes for customers. Pax8's Agent Store is central to that strategy, giving partners access to prebuilt AI solutions that can reduce development costs and accelerate deployment.

Rob Rae, Pax8's corporate vice president of community and partner experience, said many MSPs are more interested in purchasing AI agents than creating their own. Meanwhile, Chance Weaver, global vice president of AI adoption, warned that providers must move beyond basic AI enablement and governance to address specific business problems. "What 95% of MSPs are doing is they're saying, 'I can help you with AI,' but they're only providing enablement and governance service," Weaver told ChannelPro. Pax8 also is exploring ways to connect tools across vendors, allowing AI to automate workflows without locking partners into a single technology ecosystem.

For MSPs, the message is to start discussing AI with customers before competitors do. Providers can begin with AI acceptable-use policies, identify shadow AI risks and evaluate opportunities to improve customer operations through automation. Rather than becoming AI developers, MSPs can build partnerships that help them deliver solutions while maintaining their role as trusted business advisers. As Rae emphasized, MSPs should strive to be the first call when a customer starts considering AI.
