Naverisk Software founder Jon Kalaugher has reacquired the RMM & PSA software provider from ECi Software Solutions. Kalaugher confirmed the deal to ChannelE2E in a Sunday email.

Naverisk, founded in 2007 by Kalaugher, develops RMM (remote monitoring and management) and PSA (professional services automation) software for MSPs. ECi acquired the company in March 2015. Then, Apax Partners acquired ECi in August 2017. Fast forward to present day, and Kalaugher is back in the driver's seat as Naverisk's owner and CEO. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“Naverisk has had outstanding growth since the acquisition by ECi Solutions in 2015. The opportunity to further accelerate this growth with aggressive investment into the team and product is huge," Kalaugher said in a prepared statement.

Naverisk: Installed Base, Hiring Goals

In a brief email interview with ChannelE2E, Kalaugher said Naverisk has:

  • Close to 1,000 MPSs -- from small startups to heavy hitting IT service providers.
  • Several hundred thousand devices under management across Windows, Linux, Macs and SNMP devices.
  • Close to 50 employees "but now in growth mode."

The company is hiring developers to jump-start product innovation, and New Zealand and United Kingdom support staff to increase the responsiveness and quality of "follow the sun" 24x7 support operations.

"We are a small agile team and will really be pushing the bounds of MSP innovation and service," Kalaugher added. "I've been heavily involved in numerous SaaS businesses as an investor and director since the sale to ECi Solutions in 2015. I will be bringing significant capital, know-how and other resources into Naverisk. I can't wait too get cracking in the New Year."

Keep an eye on Naverisk's relationship with Flowingly -- another MSP software platform that Kalaugher has launched. Flowingly empowers MSPs to automate their own business processes and deliver BPMaaS (Business Process Management as a Service) services to their clients, he says.

Naverisk Priorities, Competition

As part of Kalaugher's ownership strategy, he says he has committed to:

  • deliver a world-class product and service experience;
  • rapidly innovate and deliver product improvements with leading edge technology;
  • offer the best support in the business; and
  • continue the ‘pioneering charge’ that brought the first ‘all in one’ RMM and PSA concept to the MSP market in 2009.

No doubt, Naverisk faces intense competition from entrenched rivals like ConnectWise, Continuum, Datto (parent of Autotask), Kaseya and SolarWinds MSP. Plus, upstarts like Atera and Pulseway have been making noise in the PSA-RMM market. But Kalaugher is a savvy veteran with extensive MSP software industry experience. We'll be watching his next moves.
