Veeam Doubles Down on RMM, MSP Software Partnerships

Veeam, the business continuity software provider, has inked a reseller agreement with Kaseya. The deal appears somewhat similar to a Veeam agreement with ConnectWise. In both cases, Veeam's software is integrated with the respective vendor's RMM (remote monitoring and management) software. And the RMM software companies, in turn, can resell the backup software to their respective MSPs.

Kaseya announced the immediate availability of Veeam Backup & Replication to Kaseya's MSPs on August 31. The deal is not exclusive. ConnectWise's LabTech business (soon to be rebranded as ConnectWise Automate), has a similar reseller and integration agreement in place with Veeam.

Veeam ranks among the top providers of as virtualization backup software for VMware vSphere customers. More recently, the business continuity company has promoted backup and restore capabilities for Microsoft Hyper-V customers. The privately held company claims it's on pace to achieve $1 billion in annual revenues by 2018.

In the channel, Veeam is perhaps best known among resellers and VARs. But the company enjoys a growing MSP and CSP base. RMM integrations with ConnectWise and Kaseya could further accelerate that MSP affinity.

Emerging Veeam Rivals

Rival backup and restore software companies and cloud providers have caught on to the strategy. Most of the major players and upstarts now offer data protection services for physical and virtual assets. And plenty of business continuity competition now looms for within the MSP market.

Examples include:

At the same time, most major RMM software providers have been building stronger ISV (independent software vendor) relationships. Many of those partnerships involve multiple storage and security integrations, often with the vendors listed above.
