Descope is expanding its reach with a new
App Dev Partner Program that enables agencies and consultants to integrate secure, low-friction authentication into the apps and digital experiences they develop. The goal is to make it easier for partners to deliver customer IAM, protect against account takeover, and support the growing wave of AI agent and MCP integrations.
A Descope spokesperson told ChannelE2E that the program is designed to open up a new customer base. "The program lets Descope tap into a whole new customer base - companies that work with agencies instead of building everything in-house. It's designed to scale up customer IAM adoption while also helping partners guide less technical clients through AI agent and MCP deployments.”
Many organizations rely on external developers to build or modernize apps, but not all of them have the technical depth to handle secure authentication or manage agentic identity. By bringing these capabilities into partner-led projects, Descope helps agencies deliver enterprise-grade security without adding friction or complexity.
The spokesperson added that “partners like Apptware are specifically excited about using Descope to help their clients get production-ready AI agents up and running with proper identity controls, even when those clients don't have deep technical expertise.”
The Role of App Dev Partners in Agentic Identity
As AI agents start showing up in real workflows, agencies are becoming the bridge between the technology and practical implementation. “App dev partners are becoming an important link between Descope's platform and real-world business needs as AI agents move into production workflows,” the spokesperson said. “They're helping clients figure out how to actually implement agentic identity in practice, not just in theory. It's about partners helping companies understand what they need and how to deploy it safely.”
That’s where the program has broader implications. Partners aren’t just implementing authentication; they’re shaping how businesses handle machine-to-machine trust, authorization, and runtime access in AI-driven environments.
Why Low-Code IAM Makes a Difference
Descope’s low-code and no-code approach is a core part of its pitch to partners. Instead of writing lines of complex auth code, agencies can visually design identity journeys for customers, partners, and AI agents. “The visual workflows and drag-and-drop setup mean partners can actually show clients what they're building instead of just writing code and hoping it works,” the spokesperson said.
That visibility and speed are key when migrating clients off older systems. “Existing partners have told us how easy it is to implement and how flexible it is across different environments, which matters a lot when you're moving clients off their homegrown systems or old legacy platforms,” they added. “The low-code approach cuts down on custom development work, making migrations faster and less painful for everyone involved. Moreover, Descope’s solutions can be easily augmented on top of existing identity stacks for MFA, SSO, and partner IAM, making it easy for agencies and organizations to implement pilots before complete rip-and-replace deployments.”
Turning Identity Into a Partner Revenue Stream
Beyond enablement, Descope is also laying the groundwork for partners to build ongoing service models around identity. “Descope is setting partners up with the usual channel program benefits like deal registration, referral incentives, and co-marketing support,” the spokesperson said.
“But the bigger opportunity is turning identity into an ongoing service line. Partners that add authentication to their core offerings will create natural touchpoints for continuous work around security updates, A/B testing login flows, and adapting to new authentication methods. It's a smart move for both sides: Descope gets a sales force, and partners get a new revenue stream that keeps clients coming back.”
The App Dev Partner Program reflects a practical evolution of IAM, one that meets partners where they are and helps them meet clients where they’re headed. For agencies, it’s a chance to turn authentication into an integrated part of their offering, extending from user experience to secure agentic AI deployment.
