A. Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

1. Partner program levels up -  Juniper Networks has revamped its global Juniper Partner Advantage (JPA) Program. The new elements will help partners leverage AI for IT Operations (AIOps) to offer managed networking services for increased reliability, agility and reach on the path toward unlocking new revenue opportunities and equip customers with solutions that enable a consistent experience-first approach across their networking infrastructure.  

2. SecureWorks Q4 - Managed security platform provider SecureWorks announced Q4 and fiscal year 2024 financial results. Total Q4 revenue was $89.2 million compared to $115.3 million during the previous year’s Q4, reflecting the strategic wind-down of the company’s other managed security services business. Total revenue for the full fiscal year was $365 million, compared to $465 million the previous year, also reflecting that wind-down.

3. Another Accenture acquisition - Accenture plans to acquire Arηs (pronounced Aris) Group, a privately held Belvaux, Luxembourg-based technology services provider focused on supporting public sector transformation across Europe. The acquisition will further enhance Accenture’s public service offering, drawing on a wide range of innovative solutions to help clients take advantage of a full continuum of technology expertise and accelerate their digital transformation.

4. Geographic expansion for cloud hosting - Hyve Managed Hosting, a global, fully managed hosting provider, is bringing its award-winning cloud expertise to Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the opening of its new European hub in Berlin. Hyve is a global company with entities in the UK, U.S., and Europe that delivers bespoke global infrastructure and management services, including private cloud, dedicated servers, colocation and security services, and more. Major brands in the company’s portfolio include Capita, Ansys, Konica Minolta and the NHS.

5. iPhone AI deal to come - Apple is in talks to build Google’s Gemini AI engine into the iPhone, Bloomberg is reporting. Apple also recently held discussions with OpenAI. A deal with Apple would be Google’s highest-profile partnership for Gemini to date and could bolster the company’s AI efforts. 

6. Threat actor tool targets remote access - Resecurity has identified a new tool listed for sale on the Dark Web called TMChecker which is designed to attack remote-access services and popular e-commerce applications. This adversarial tool combines corporate access login (log) checking capabilities with a brute-force attack kit and is available on a monthly subscription basis for $200. TMChecker actively targets: Cisco (VPN), RDWeb, Citrix (VPN), GlobalProtect (VPN), Pulse Secure (VPN), FortiNet (VPN), Big-IP (VPN), OWA (Office 365 / Outlook), Wordpress (CMS), phpMyAdmin, Joomla (CMS), OpenCart (e-commerce), Magento (e-commerce), PrestaShop (e-commerce), cPanel (Hosting Panel), DirectAdmin (hosting panel), Plesk (hosting panel), and FTP.
