Assured Data Protection Brings BackBox Network Configuration Protection to MSP Partners

Data protection and recovery vendor Assured Data Protection has partnered with network cyber resilience platform BackBox to expand its managed services portfolio and provide customers with automated device configuration backups, version control, and rapid restoration of network and security device configurations.

Assured Data Protection, which is an MSP for cybersecurity vendor Rubrik, said the partnership with BackBox will allow the company to help business customers better protect the configurations of their firewalls, switches, routers, and network and security endpoints from disruptive cyberattacks that can harm their operations.

The new integrated BackBox network and security configuration protection services include support for more than 5,000 device types and are designed to secure configuration files for storage in an encrypted off-site repository, according to Assured. The stored files can be accessed by customers following cyberattacks, service outages, hardware failures, or other disruptions so they can recover their systems and return to normal operations.

The BackBox services are designed with policy-based version control to capture all configuration changes, fast device restoration that cuts recovery times from hours to minutes, and reduced customer dependency on VARs and consultants if attack incidents occur, according to the companies.

Nik Grove, field CTO for Assured Data Protection, told ChannelE2E that MSPs and other channel partners have been seeking these additional services for their customers.

"MSPs and customers were clear that protecting data alone is not enough," said Grove. "If network and security device configurations are unavailable or compromised, recovery stalls. This was a gap we could not fully address previously."

For Assured Data Protection, in addition to working directly with enterprises, the company will also partner with MSPs and other technology service providers to offer the new integrated services.

By using BackBox capabilities to protect the network layer, customer organizations can achieve fast and reliable recovery of device configurations to restore operations across their environments, said Grove.

Important Service Offering Gains for Channel Partners

"Channel partners gain a turnkey service they can deploy immediately, without the cost and complexity of building and maintaining their own platform," said Grove. "Day-to-day operational tasks such as platform management, monitoring, updates, and upgrades are handled for them, reducing operational overhead."

This allows channel partners to improve their margins by reducing the manual effort required to provide these kinds of intensive network and security services, said Grove. "At the same time, built-in backup verification, compliance checks, and audit-ready reporting provide clear, ongoing proof of value for customers."

For MSPs and other channel partners, this strengthens long-term relationships without adding extra operational burdens, said Grove.

For business customers using dozens, hundreds, or thousands of devices, the time and cost savings provided by the automated and integrated BackBox backup and restoration services can help dramatically streamline IT operations, according to the company.

The Assured Backup with BackBox services are available immediately.

Continuing Assured's Managed Services Growth

For Assured Data Protection, the partnership with BackBox is the company's most recent such move, according to Grove.

"This launch builds on a broader expansion of Assured’s managed services portfolio," he said. "BackBox is the most recent addition following the launch of Assured Recovery for Nutanix in May 2025 and Assured Recovery for Zerto in December 2025. Together, these additions reflect Assured’s commitment to bringing best-of-breed technologies to market as fully managed services for partners and their customers."
