Palo Alto Networks has revamped its NextWave partner program to prioritize platform-based security delivery and service-led growth as enterprises shift toward AI-driven defenses, according to ARN.

The update centers on boosting partner margins, speeding deal execution, and reinvesting earnings to support long-term growth, with the vendor saying the program "redefines partner profitability for the AI era."

Rather than rewarding volume, NextWave now emphasizes "platformisation," encouraging partners to integrate network, cloud, and security operations into unified stacks that reduce complexity and open higher-margin services.

Palo Alto Networks said margins are improved through streamlined rebates tied to next-generation firewalls, advanced security, and platform adoption, while deal velocity is enhanced through automated deal registration, improved quoting, and upgraded service delivery tools.

A new Partner Development Fund reinvests earned rebates into partner-led demand generation, training, and solution development. The program introduces four partner paths covering managed services, distributors, global systems integrators, and authorised services, reflecting partner feedback and a move away from transactional models. Executives said the redesign aligns incentives with AI-era security outcomes.
