Alternative Payments brings agentic AI to MSP back-office operations

MSPs have spent years automating service delivery, but many financial processes still depend on manual work. Alternative Payments aims to change that with Alti, an AI-powered assistant that goes beyond financial reporting to recommend and execute approved actions. As ChannelPro recently reported, the platform is designed to help MSPs improve profitability while reducing administrative workloads.

Alti works across accounts receivable, accounts payable and financial analytics, using live business data to identify overdue invoices, evaluate client profitability and prepare collection emails for approval. It also offers automated reports, cash flow insights and peer benchmarking, while integrating with platforms including ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA and QuickBooks. Alternative Payments says its existing platform, used by more than 1,000 companies, has helped customers reduce collection times by 42% and save more than five hours weekly per accounts receivable operator.

The bigger opportunity for MSPs is shifting from reactive financial management to proactive business operations. Rather than simply alerting employees to unpaid invoices or underperforming accounts, agentic workflows can recommend next steps and handle approved tasks. With Service Leadership reporting adjusted EBITDA margins of 20% to 21% among top-performing IT solution providers, compared with 9% to 10% for median performers, reducing administrative overhead and improving financial visibility could help MSPs close the profitability gap. Alti is now widely available following a limited rollout.
