Managed Print Services Acquisition: PPSI Buys Encore Images

Printer Pro Soutions Inc (PPSI) has acquired Encore Images, a managed print services company in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

Encore Images was founded in 1989 in the Boston suburb by Laurel and Paul Mervis. The company specialized in managed print services and remanufactured printer cartridges. Encore Images was also an authorized reseller of Xerox, HP, and Brother copiers, MFPs, and printers.

Prior to the deal, Encore had three employees excluding the owners, one of whom will join PPSI’s 13 employees, the company confirmed to ChannelE2E.

Owned and operated by Chris and Cheryl Gardella, PPSI is located in Douglas, Massachusetts. For more than 20 years, the company has provided printer services, supplies, and solutions to customers throughout New England.

Zygoquest’s Advisor Role

Mike Dudek and Rich Wisniewski of Zygoquest Group "seeking to unite" advised Encore Images’ owners on the sale of their company.

While terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed, it’s interesting to note that Zygoquest has advised on at least eight other consummated acquisitions in 2019 and dozens more in recent years. Recently, Zygoquest was a key part of RPG Squarefoot Solutions' buyout of G&H Service Company.

Dudek and Wisniewski have authored more than 500 completed M&A transactions. Many of their recent deals have involved office equipment companies, managed print services specialists, and other technology services companies. Before founding Zygoquest, Dudek worked as VP of Acquisitions for IKON Office Solutions before it was acquired by Ricoh Corporation.
