Windows 10 is quickly conquering the enterprise OS market. In 2017, over a third of global infrastructure decision makers reported that their firms have already deployed Windows 10, and another 14% are planning to deploy it in the next 12 months, according to the Forrester Data Global Business Technographics Infrastructure Survey, 2016.
These enterprises will see new benefits, with Microsoft beginning to deliver on its goals of stronger security and clearer privacy options. For example, the company answered consumers’ calls for greater transparency and configuration with the April 2017 Creators Update, which reveals what diagnostic and functional data the operating system collects. In addition, Windows 10 includes key security features to prevent exploits on the endpoint.
So, should you install Windows 10 and dump your endpoint protection products?
The answer is that while Microsoft is making steps in the right direction, you may not be as protected as you think with just a simple Windows 10 upgrade. The level of security Windows 10 provides depends on the choices you make related to your desired level of privacy, security add-ons, and supporting hardware.
In the Forrester report, “Windows 10 Finally Delivers On Microsoft’s Security Promises,” we break down what Windows users need to do to get the most out of Windows 10 security and privacy features.
This includes:
- What endpoint security features Windows 10 offers, and how they compare to your current solutions.
- What optional features you can enable to get the most out of Windows 10 security.
- How to decide to disable key features that collect personal information.
