Keyes Information Technology (KIT), a Watertown, New York-based security and analytics provider that has Splunk expertise, is acquiring WayNorth LLC, a neighboring company with website design expertise.
Announcing the deal at a local Masonic Temple, Keyes Information Technology CEO Rod Castillo said the two companies will remain separate, but help each other enhance their services, the Watertown Daily Times reports.
Castillo made the announcement alongside WayNorth founder Mark Holberg, who launched his company in 2007.
Founded in 2011, KIT employs 13 part- and full-time employees and plans to hire between two and four more as a result of the merger. The company provides services to a number of well-known enterprise companies including General Electric.
WayNorth’s new general manager is also a local city Councilman. Cody J. Horbacz said the combination of the companies makes sense, forming an incubation “powerhouse” to help create local startups, create jobs, and drive revenue into the area, the Watertown Daily Times reports.
