F-Secure has acquired Digital Assurance, an IT security consulting firm. F-Secure is a Finnish cybersecurity company. Digital Assurance is a UK-based information security assessment services provider. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Digital Assurance acquisition will enable F-Secure to combine its endpoint protection and cybersecurity solutions with Digital Assurance's security testing services, according to F-Secure. Digital Assurance will become part of F-Secure's cybersecurity services business unit while giving the parent doorway into the UK market.
"This acquisition will help F-Secure grow our successful service business to meet the ever-increasing demand for cybersecurity services," Jens Thonke, executive vice president of F-Secure's cybersecurity services, said in a prepared statement.

M&A Strategy
F-Secure has a blended growth strategy that involves organic expansion and N&A deals. In addition to the Digital Assurance deal, the company last month purchased Little Flocker, a private app developer that specializes in Mac security technology.
The Little Flocker acquisition will help F-Secure protect businesses and consumers against zero-day attacks, regardless of platform, F-Secure Chief Technology Officer Mika Ståhlberg said in a prepared statement.
Moreover, F-Secure plans to incorporate Little Flocker's core technology into its security cloud and include the technology in its Protection Service for Business endpoint security solution, the company said.
