WatchGuard Technologies Introduces New MDR Service for MSPs

WatchGuard Technologies has announced the introduction of WatchGuard MDR, a new round-the-clock managed detection and response (MDR) service specifically designed to assist managed service providers (MSPs) in meeting the growing demand for managed cybersecurity services.

The offering from WatchGuard allows MSPs to offer MDR services without the need for significant investment in traditional security operations center (SOC) infrastructure or in-house cybersecurity experts, aiming to alleviate widespread industry challenges related to expertise shortages and financial limitations.

Streamlining Cybersecurity for Service Providers

Raul Zayas, President, ZTek Solutions, commented:

"WatchGuard’s new solution has effectively supercharged our managed security services business by allowing us to effortlessly tap into the immense potential of MDR and offer it as a value-added service to customers. By removing the burden on us to create a modern SOC, WatchGuard MDR expedited our ability to give customers what they need the most: top-notch, comprehensive cybersecurity backed by industry-leading cyber experts to ensure a resilient defense against evolving cyber threats."

Andrew Young, Chief Product Officer, WatchGuard Technologies, said:

“As a 100% channel-driven company, we wanted to deliver an enterprise-class MDR solution that would allow our MSP partners to expand their business without the expense of building their own SOC or adding to the challenges they already face in finding cybersecurity talent. We are dedicated to supporting our MSP community, and the launch of WatchGuard MDR represents another milestone in the long-term trusted relationships we build with our partners."

Key Features of WatchGuard MDR

The WatchGuard MDR service offers a range of capabilities, including continuous endpoint activity monitoring, proactive threat hunting, and 24/7 incident investigation.  It provides MSPs with immediate incident notifications, options for mitigation, and remediation guidelines, the company said.

These features are designed to enable service providers to enhance their customers' security posture, expand their service portfolio, and generate new revenue streams without initial investments in SOC infrastructure or advanced AI technology.
