Veeam’s new DataAI Command Platform connects data, access, identities, and AI

With the use of autonomous AI agents growing across industries, data resilience and security vendor Veeam has unveiled its new Veeam DataAI Command Platform, which aims to help enterprises bring together data, access, identities, and AI for more efficient and secure operations across their IT infrastructures.

The new platform builds on Veeam's December 2025 acquisition of data and AI security platform vendor Securiti AI.

The Veeam DataAI Command Platform includes six components that enable enterprises to graph and track their data for greater operational insights, including security management, governance, compliance, privacy, and resilience capabilities, all connected in a single trust layer for analysis.

"The Veeam Data Command Platform is an evolution and a unification of Veeam’s existing technological capabilities," Rick Vanover, vice president of product strategy at Veeam, told ChannelE2E. "It brings together Veeam’s established strengths in data resilience, backup, security, governance, and compliance into a single integrated platform that runs on the DataAI Command Graph, which is the intelligence and orchestration layer connecting primary and backup data."

The new offering will be generally available through Veeam’s network of authorized partners, resellers, and distributors in early Q3 2026.

"The new platform and enhancements expand opportunities for Veeam’s channel ecosystem by enabling partners to deliver a broader set of data resilience, security, governance, AI trust, compliance, and contextual intelligence offerings through a single platform," said Vanover. "Partners will be able to differentiate services beyond traditional backup and disaster recovery and address modern data challenges for customers."

As agentic AI use increases across the IT landscape, more tools are being sought to further develop the use of AI in enterprise operations, he said.

"The new capabilities reflect evolving customer needs driven by modern cyber threats, rapid AI adoption, and the increase in autonomous AI agents operating across enterprise environments," said Vanover. "Customers sought a more unified trust layer along with greater visibility into unstructured data and AI-driven risks. While Veeam already delivered strong data and cyber resilience capabilities, organizations also needed more precise recovery and deeper contextual intelligence. These platform features were designed to address these emerging data and AI trust needs at scale." 

Anurag Agrawal, founder and chief global analyst at Techaisle, called the new Veeam platform "a necessary evolution" as the marketplace is aggressively shifting from assistive AI to autonomous Agentic AI."

This is happening as traditional perimeter security becomes obsolete, said Agrawal. "By shifting the control point directly to the data source, Veeam is creating the infrastructure required for what I call 'accountable Intelligence.' It is a workload-first approach that forces enterprises to treat data governance as a prerequisite for AI deployment, rather than an afterthought."

This will also be helpful for channel partners, said Agrawal, because many partners today are hitting a wall as they try to help SMBs transition AI pilots into production due to sheer complexity and integration challenges.

"Partners, especially those in the midmarket and SMB space, are focused on customizing and reselling, not building AI trust architectures from scratch," he said. "Veeam is handing them a packaged trust framework. This allows partners to pivot the conversation from tactical data backup to strategic risk governance and AI readiness, tying deployment directly to tangible business outcomes."

In the mid-market, 87% of core and 89% of upper-midmarket firms identify AI as a top business priority, but they are terrified of the associated risks, said Agrawal. "MSPs will eat this up," he said. "MSPs are in the business of precision risk management. For the customer, it delivers uninterrupted business continuity; for the MSP, it drastically reduces the labor hours typically burned on complex recoveries."
