System One Inc. has acquired GAP Solutions Inc. a professional services firm and IT solutions provider that supports U.S. federal clients. Financial terms were not disclosed.

System One is one of the nation's largest staffing firms. GAP Solutions, backed by about 400 employees, is ISO 9001:2015 certified and specializes in Human Capital Management, Security Process Management, Scientific and Technical Expertise, and Operations Management, the companies say.

“We are excited to bring GAP Solutions, Inc. into the System One family,” said Troy Gregory, president and CEO of System One, in a prepared statement. “The expertise and reputation of GAP Solutions’ team aligns with our strategy of providing mission critical services, broadens our reach in the federal market, and creates opportunity for our continued growth.”

System One's Financial Backers, Previous Acquisitions

System One is backed by Thomas H. Lee Partners, a private equity firm that made a "significant investment" in the business in 2016. That deal essentially allowed former System One investor MidOcean Partners to exit the business.

On the M&A front, System One in recent years has also acquired:

  • TeamPeople, a multimedia staffing company;
  • ALTA IT Services, an IT staffing company; and
  • Precision Resource Company, which provides engineering, project management and technical support to the power and energy industries.

Predictably, M&A activity across the IT services market has accelerated in recent weeks as companies seek to finalize deals ahead of the 2018 New Year.
