Limerston Capital Acquires CyberCrowd to Launch UK Cybersecurity Services Platform

Private equity firm Limerston Capital is making a move into the cybersecurity space with its acquisition of CyberCrowd, a UK-based cyber services company. This is more than just a portfolio expansion and a foundation for a broader cybersecurity platform that combines capabilities from this deal and an earlier acquisition in the digital forensics space. The goal is to build a scalable, multi-service cybersecurity business serving public and private sector clients across the UK.

With this combination, CyberCrowd brings deep operational experience in cyber consulting, penetration testing, and incident response, all backed by a UK-based, round-the-clock security operations center (SOC). Paired with digital forensics and e-discovery tools from Limerston’s earlier investment, including proprietary case management software, the new group is positioned to offer a full stack of services that range from proactive threat defense to post-incident investigation.

What’s notable here is the structure. Instead of rolling out a brand-new entity or trying to build piecemeal, Limerston is applying a platform strategy that combines mature, proven operators with overlapping but distinct skill sets. It is a move that reflects growing demand for integrated security services, especially from regulated industries and organizations involved in national infrastructure.

There is also a clear signal of intent as the new group will be exploring additional M&A opportunities to expand both capability and market reach. For now, though, the combined CyberCrowd-led team has a solid foundation with operational expertise, technical breadth, and a leadership team that knows the security space well. As demand for cyber resilience grows across the UK, this new platform aims to be a go-to provider for end-to-end support.
