A. Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

1. SOC NFR licenses for MSPs - Cybersecurity solution provider Blackpoint Cyber has introduced the Blackpoint Community Protection Program, which provides free, internal-use, ‘not for resale’ (NFR) licenses and manned 24/7 monitoring by the Blackpoint Security Operations Center (SOC) to MSPs.

2. Demonstrating cybersecurity value to customers - Blackpoint Cyber also introduced a new program called See Clearly, a suite of solutions designed to help MSPs demonstrate the value of cybersecurity to end customers. It includes Dark Web Monitoring automated reports  that identify customer credentials and assets at risk, a monthy Threat Assessment Summary for customers, Blackpoint University curriculum of technology and business courses for MSPs, and simplifid pricing packages.

3. Who is liable for a breach? - Heard in the halls at Right of Boom - A lawfirm in California recently sued its MSP and a vendor a year after it experienced a cybersecurity breach. Experts at Right of Boom are interested in how the courts will decide on liability for service providers.

4. ConnectWise ScreenConnect vulnerability - Vendors at Right of Boom are also talking about how all work stopped when the ScreenConnect vulnerability came to light so they could reach out to every service provider to make sure that the upgrades were applied ASAP. 

5. New marketing boss - MSP platform company ConnectWise has appointed Angus Robertson as Chief Marketing Officer. He’s been an instructor for CompTIA and has worked with a number of IT firms.
