This is technology M&A deal number 733 that ChannelE2E has covered so far in 2021.

Accenture Acquires Tambourine to Bolster Interactive, Commerce Capabilities

The acquisition of Tambourine is part of Accenture's strategy to build a stronger service offering in marketing, commerce and customer experience design, according to a statement released by the company.

Founded in 2015, Tambourine provides integrated commerce services on the Salesforce platform, customer experience design and engineering, web services and application development and consultancy services. Tambourine was recognized as Salesforce’s Innovation Partner of the Year in 2020, and is one of the few companies in Japan that holds a Level 1 Specialist certification in Salesforce’s B2C Commerce domain, according to the statement. Its team of approximately 70 customer experience specialists, designers and cloud engineers will join Accenture Interactive in Japan, according to the statement.

Accenture Interactive Growth

Tambourine is the latest in a series of acquisitions that Accenture has made to rapidly scale its commerce expertise and capabilities, including Experity in BrazilGlamit in Argentina and Openmind in Italy.

In February 2021, Accenture acquired Businet Systems, which develops and operates Salesforce Commerce Cloud-based e-commerce sites in Japan, with a proprietary order management system (OMS) for the apparel and retail industries.
