9. Microsoft Ignite Moves Forward: Microsoft Ignite, the company's annual customer conference, will proceed as planned later this month in Orlando. Hurricane Irma's impact in that particular area was largely minimal.

8. Oracle Hit and Miss: Oracle's latest quarterly results largely beat Wall Street's expectations, but the company's long-term forecast disappointed analysts. Related Conference: Oracle OpenWorld 2017 and an associated partner day are set for October.

7. Kaspersky to Testify: Kaspersky Lab CEO Eugene Kaspersky has accepted an invitation to testify before Congress on September 27. The U.S. government has barred Kaspersky's security software from federal computers and networks, alleging the company has ties to Russia's government. Kaspersky has repeatedly denied the claims.

6. Home Managed Services: ARRIS International has launched ARRIS HomeAssure, a managed services platform for in-home WiFi. We're poking around to see if ARRIS is focusing mainly on larger cable companies and broadband providers, or if there are opportunities here for smaller MSPs.

2. M&A: Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. has acquired Document Scanning Systems and Imaging (DSSI) of Chatsworth, California, the company confirmed today. The move bolsters Konica's current document management capabilities and increase its customer base in the western U.S., the company says. DSSI resells OnBase by Hyland, Kofax, and information management solutions for commercial, entertainment, government and healthcare companies. Financial terms were not disclosed.
