Sirius Computer Solutions, a national IT solutions integrator, has acquired Continuum Worldwide Corp. -- also known as Continuum Security Solutions, an IT security consulting firm that specializes in compliance, assessments, governance, digital forensics and incident response.

Continuum Security Solutions, not to be confused with Continuum Managed Services for MSPs,  evolved from a Fortune 500 subsidiary to an employee-owned information security consulting firm. The company, launched in 2006, has relationships with Splunk, CyberArk, FireEye, Qualys, Tenable, and other leading security technology companies.

The Sirius buyout of Continuum Security Solutions was finalized December 30, 2016. Continuum Security Solutions employees have joined the Sirius regional office in  Omaha, Nebraska. This is the sixth major acquisition Sirius has made over the past two years, the company says.

"Adding the Continuum team to our Security practice is a strategic investment for us," Sirius CEO Joe Mertens said in a prepared statement. "They have an impressive team of experts who help clients improve their security posture, protect their enterprise assets and reduce risk from emerging threats. Combining our two companies helps deepen our security skills and broaden our security solution offerings, which creates significant benefits for our clients."

We're reached out to Sirius for more details about the deal and will update this article if/when we hear back.

Continuum Security Solutions is the second security-focused IT consulting firm acquired in recent days. The other example involves MacAulay-Brown Inc. (MacB) acquiring Enlighten IT Consulting (EITC), a government-focused cybersecurity specialist.

More security-focused acquisitions are likely on the way. Among the potential movers we're watching: An investment group featuring Cognizant Technology Solutions and Capgemini veteran Larry Gordon is seeking to acquire an IT services firm that specializes in security, ChannelE2E has learned.
