Cisco Launches FindIT: Small Business RMM Platform for MSPs

Share

Cisco Systems has launched FindIT, a remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform that includes on-premises and cloud components. It's designed for IT managers as well as managed services providers, the company says.

"Whether you are an internal IT Team or a Managed Service Provider, or anything in-between, this is an attractive tool for any IT professional looking to help simplify the process of setting-up, deploying, configuring and managing networks," David Harper, product manager for Cisco FindIT, wrote in a blog post.

It sounds like FindIT is mostly designed for SMB networks. Also, FindIT sounds Cisco-centric and I doubt it will compete head-on against vendor-neutral RMM offerings from the likes of Autotask, ConnectWise, Continuum, Kaseya and SolarWinds MSP, among others. Still, MSPs should explore how FindIT potentially compares to Auvik Networks, a network-centric RMM platform.

Cisco will need to work hard to build and maintain trust with MSPs in the SMB sector. The company already has good relationships on the security front, where Cisco Umbrella (formerly called OpenDNS) is popular with MSPs. But Cisco also alienated some MSPs in 2013, when the company killed the OnPlus managed service platform and instead promoted Meraki for cloud-based IT management.

We've reached out to Cisco for more details about FindIT.
