How can customers purchase VMware Cloud on AWS? The two-part answer is (1) directly through Amazon Web Services (AWS) or (2) via AWS APN Partners in the Solution Provider Program (SPP), the public cloud services giant said this morning.
Among the nuances to note:
- When purchasing through AWS, customers can leverage AWS field promotional programs like Migration Acceleration Program (MAP), the company notes.
- For partners, the VMware Cloud on AWS Navigate provides a pathway to tackle customer projects in this market.
VMware Cloud on AWS seemingly enjoyed "most favorite nation" status in VMware's public cloud strategy over the past year or two. But more recently, VMware announced closer work with Microsoft Azure, and the virtualization software company also has some work in place with Google Cloud Platform and IBM Cloud.
The overall strategy has been treating VMware well. The company's fiscal year 2019 revenues were $8.97 billion, up 14 percent vs. 2018.
