Data backup and recovery vendor Veeam has unveiled a new Veeam Data Cloud for MSPs offering which aims to deliver multi-tenant SaaS services to MSPs and their customers. The new Veeam Data Cloud for MSPs, which is available through Veeam’s Cloud and Service Provider (VCSP) program, can be used by busy MSPs to help their SMB and enterprise customers obtain additional data resilience and protection services, Michael Rau, the vice president of Veeam’s global partner ecosystem, told ChannelE2E.“As organizations increasingly rely on cloud applications like Microsoft 365, MSPs need modern, multi-tenant solutions that are easy to deploy and manage,” said Rau. “Veeam Data Cloud streamlines operations, strengthens cyber defenses, and enables partners to deliver differentiated, resilient data services to their customers, empowering them to grow and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving market.”Rau said that MSP partners and customers sought these new capabilities from Veeam.“Partners have been looking for a unified, scalable platform to simplify operations and strengthen security, while their customers increasingly expect robust, always-on protection for their cloud data,” he said. “This new platform makes it dramatically easier for MSPs to protect client data, reduce operational complexity, accelerate customer onboarding, and offer differentiated, resilient backup and recovery services – all through a single, unified interface.”Automation of many routine tasks and the creation of actionable insights are two of the most helpful benefits of the new offering for MSPs, said Rau. “In terms of security, the platform delivers advanced cyber defense with immutable, air-gapped backups, threat detection, role-based access control, and comprehensive audit trails. This helps MSPs and their customers meet strict compliance standards and protect against ransomware and insider threats.”Veeam Data Cloud for MSPs allows MSPs to launch new data protection services faster into new markets as they expand their operations and customer bases, he said.Veeam Data Cloud for MSPs is available now for Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Veeam Vault cloud storage, according to the company. Support for Azure and Salesforce workloads, as well as bundled offerings for Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, are expected later this year. The new offering also includes broad SaaS scalability for new backup and recovery deployments as well as built-in, policy-driven data protection, embedded threat intelligence and real-time dashboards and threat analytics to help MSPs optimize their customers’ operations. Also unveiled by the vendor is a new Veeam Service Provider Console v9, which gets enhancements that will make it easier for VCSPs and MSPs to build customer applications on the company’s platforms. Console v9 adds support for the new Veeam Data Cloud for MSPs, as well as deeper integration with Veeam ONE IT analytics and monitoring tools.Shelly Kramer, founder and principal analyst at Kramer&Co., said Veeam’s new capabilities for MSPs come at just the right time.“Veeam's Data Cloud for MSP solution checks a lot of boxes for MSPs and is a significant move for Veeam as the platform provides secure, centralized access, with role-based management that ensures granular user permissions,” said Kramer. “The fully hosted SaaS solution is attractive, allowing MSPs to focus on service delivery rather than dealing with the burden of platform management, meaning they have no need to maintain their own cloud infrastructure. The powerful automation and multi-layered security of the data cloud offering reduces complexity and will help accelerate deployment, all of which means providing the ability for MSPs to scale their services quickly to help meet growing customer demand.” Kramer said the useful updates in the latest Veeam Service Provider Console v9 are also beneficial for MSPs as they provide broader services to customers.“In the highly competitive MSP backup market, these are significant differentiators,” said Kramer. “Veeam's strong reputation in enterprise-grade backup tech, now delivered in a true multi-tenant SaaS model, is extremely attractive and throws down the gauntlet for the MSP-first vendors. This will be interesting to watch.”
