US Signal, a provider of cloud solutions, network connectivity, and data center services, has announced the acquisition of a new data center in Indianapolis, Indiana. This move marks the company's growing presence in one of the Midwest's rapidly expanding tech ecosystems, according to US Signal.

Growing Demand for Cloud Solutions and Data Centers

The new facility, located at 6325 Morenci Trail, encompasses 9,600 square feet and a 2-megawatt capacity. This addition represents the second US Signal data center in the Indianapolis market, reflecting the company's strategic expansion in the region.

John White, Chief Operating Officer, US Signal, commented:

"We are seeing increased demand for off-premises services and hybrid cloud solutions. The Morenci data center will allow us to serve more customers in the emerging Indianapolis market while realizing another step in our five-year plan to build additional digital infrastructure in our Midwest footprint."

Facility Features and Services

Post-upgrade, the data center will boast 300 available cabinets, round-the-clock staffing, and multi-level security. Notably, the facility will incorporate US Signal's Cloud Pod, enabling both private and multi-tenant cloud hosting.

The Morenci data center is designed according to Uptime's Tier III standards. It features redundant critical facility components and efficient cooling solutions to maintain optimal environmental conditions. The data center is SSAE 18-audited, HIPAA-compliant, and PCI-certified, making it suitable for a variety of IT needs, including as a secondary disaster recovery site or a part of hybrid IT strategies.

Employment and Infrastructure Development

This new development is set to more than double US Signal's existing workforce in the market, according to the company. Additionally, it will entail several miles of new fiber construction, further enhancing the company's regional network infrastructure. The property also allows for significant future expansion, with plans to add up to 600 additional cabinets as demand increases.

White further emphasized the company's long-term goals: "We are committed to building out our digital infrastructure over the next five years. We're building cloud, we're building fiber, and we're building data centers all to help our customers."
