Cynomi and SPECTRA partner to help MSPs add security warranties and insurance savings

Cynomi and SPECTRA have partnered to help MSPs and MSSPs turn their security work into something customers can more clearly measure. The certification is based on the same criteria insurers use when assessing cyber risk, giving providers a third-party way to support claims around the quality of their services. Cynomi’s platform will feed assessment data and control evidence into SPECTRA’s review process, reducing the amount of manual work partners need to complete.

Certified providers can also offer SpectraCare warranties across services such as managed detection and response, endpoint security, firewalls, backup and disaster recovery. Coverage can reach $1 million per client and is paid directly to the customer if a certified service underperforms during a qualifying cyber incident. That gives MSPs a way to add financial protection to services they are already selling, while giving customers a clearer view of what happens if those services fail to perform as expected.

The insurance piece could also become part of the sales conversation. Clients working with certified providers may qualify for cyber insurance discounts of up to 35%, while MSPs may receive discounts of up to 25% on their own cyber errors-and-omissions premiums. For customers, that creates a more direct link between stronger security controls and lower insurance costs. For providers, it could help support renewals, justify higher-tier service packages and make security outcomes easier to explain.

MSPs may also gain access to referrals through SPECTRA’s insurer and broker network, which includes relationships with Lloyd’s of London syndicates, Dual and Ledgebrook. The broader opportunity is in how partners package the certification, warranties and insurance benefits into recurring services. Providers that can connect security delivery to independent validation, financial protection and lower risk costs will have a stronger story to take into customer conversations.
