Unitas Global is acquiring Solinea Inc., an IT services provider that specializes in cloud adoption, application migration,  container and DevOps services. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Solinea's key partners include Amazon Web Services, Canonical (promoter of Ubuntu Linux), Cisco Systems, Core OS, Google Cloud Platform, HashiCorp and Red Hat.

Unitas, an enterprise cloud solutions provider, has been increasing its reach amongst enterprise-grade companies of late, growing its hybrid cloud strategy along the way. Its flagship Unitas Enterprise Private Cloud offering creates a customized and secure cloud-based IT environment for customers, managed and backed by an end-to-end SLA, the company asserts.

In 2016, Los Angeles-based Unitas bought MSP AOS Cloud to bolster its engineer and optimization teams. That deal also expanded its client base and strengthened its channel presence and market reach throughout the U.S. Midwest. The company says this latest deal will further solidify its position “as a trusted advisor and partner to its clients,” the company asserts.

“By acquiring Solinea, Unitas Global enhances its ability to deliver targeted business outcomes in partnership with our clients, expanding beyond our current core competencies as an infrastructure-focused service provider,” says Patrick Shutt, CEO of Unitas Global. “This will immediately give our clients a single trusted partner to help with cloud strategy enablement, adoption, and cloud infrastructure management.”

The acquisition will also bring new services to Unitas Global’s offering, including multi-cloud design and implementation, container and microservices enablement, managed DevOps-as-a-Service, CI/CD pipeline tooling and management, and application migration expertise, the company says. “We plan to build on these services to create a next-generation cloud transformation platform for our enterprise clients,” said Grant Kirkwood, CTO of Unitas Global.

A History Together

The company believes these services are a key part of their strategy to become an end-to-end cloud service partner for its enterprise clients.

This announcement is just the latest in a relationship that stretches back to 2016. At the time, the duo announced a partnership that brought together Unitas’ custom cloud architecture, management expertise, and global operations with Solinea’s integration and adoption solutions.

"Partnering with Unitas Global is the right decision for our current and future customers looking to architect and deploy open, vendor-agnostic cloud solutions," Solinea CEO, Francesco Paola said at the time.
