Tanium’s Agentic AI Push Reshapes How MSPs Scale Endpoint and Security Services

AI-generated code

Last month, at its Converge conference in Orlando, Tanium outlined how its Autonomous IT platform is evolving to meet a very practical problem for MSPs - too many endpoints, manual work, and not enough time. Tanium's latest updates extend agentic AI into daily operations while expanding endpoint management into OT and mobile environments. For MSPs, the focus is less about new features and more about faster resolution, consistent outcomes, and services that scale.

AI for operational leverage for MSPs

Tanium’s agentic AI updates are aimed squarely at reducing the effort behind detection, investigation, and remediation. Tanium Ask brings natural-language interaction and AI-driven workflows directly into the platform, replacing multi-step investigations with a single operational flow.

Tony Beller, Senior Vice President of Global Partner Sales at Tanium, told ChannelE2E, “Tanium Ask allows MSPs to streamline detection, investigation, and remediation processes. MSPs can ask questions in natural language, receive answers based on real-time endpoint intelligence, and take context-based action to save time and provide better service.”

Beller noted that the real value is not just faster answers, but fewer handoffs and less context switching. “With capabilities like data discovery for faster root cause analysis, software management to maintain software hygiene and automate deployments, dashboard summarization for instant, actionable insights, and in-console documentation, Tanium Ask empowers teams to work smarter, reduce complexity and strengthen IT and security operations.”

Security investigations are also being compressed. Tanium’s Security Triage Agent, including integrations with Microsoft Security Copilot, helps analysts investigate threats without stitching together multiple data sources. “Without having to manage multiple separate data sources, MSPs can lower investigation time and reduce redundancy in tasks, allowing teams to focus on addressing the bigger customer concerns,” Beller said.

Extending control into OT and mobile environments

Endpoint sprawl is no longer limited to laptops and servers. Tanium’s move into OT and mobile management reflects how customer environments have changed, especially for providers supporting manufacturing, healthcare, and hybrid workforces.

“Expanding Tanium into OT and mobile will be instrumental for partners who support diverse environments,” Beller said. “By bringing these endpoint management capabilities to traditionally siloed assets, partners can unify visibility and security intelligence to all endpoints. For MSPs and MSSPs, this is a game-changer.”

The practical impact is fewer tools and more consistent governance. “Partners can use fewer siloed tools, streamline operations and deliver consistent governance of all endpoints across IT and industrial domains,” he added. “As device diversity increases, these capabilities raise MSP and MSSP value by unifying endpoint visibility and actionable insight through a single platform.”

Integrations also matter at scale. With the Tanium Connector for Microsoft Intune, MSPs can bring Intune-managed devices into the same operational view. “Real-time visibility and remediation are unified through the Tanium platform, eliminating blind spots that can slow down or cause inconsistencies,” Beller said. “This enables partners to scale services more quickly and maintain uniform standards across all customers.”

From reactive support to repeatable services

Beyond operations, Tanium positioned its agentic AI capabilities as a way for partners to package higher-value services. Tools like Tanium Ask and the Tanium AI Agent for ServiceNow are designed to sit inside existing workflows, not alongside them.

“Through both Tanium Ask and Tanium AI Agent for ServiceNow, partners will be able to provide AI-driven outcomes and expand the services they deliver,” Beller said. “MSPs and MSSPs can use these agentic AI capabilities to generate real-time insights and proactively monitor, detect and remediate issues, significantly reducing response times.”

That shift opens the door to differentiated offerings. “With AI embedded directly into endpoint and IT service management workflows, our partners can offer faster SLAs, premium autonomous operations, and prove value through on-demand reporting and AI-assisted recommendations,” he said. “In doing so, partners move from being reactive service providers to strategic advisors.”

By combining real-time endpoint data with agentic AI and wider coverage across IT, OT, and mobile, Tanium is giving MSPs tools they can actually turn into repeatable services that hold up at scale. For partners being asked to deliver more with fewer resources, that practical impact matters far more than any single new feature.
