Syncro Exec Shake Up: Co-Founder Replaced as Channel Chief

Red man comes out of structure of people. Integrity violation, non-conformist. Dismissal. Dismissal from the company. Expulsion from society. Different from others. Overflow. Exit, leave, renounce.

Remote monitoring and management (RMM) and professional services automation (PSA) vendor Syncro has named a new channel chief, replacing Ian Alexander, the company's co-founder. Alexander has served in the channel chief role since August 2022. Before moving into the channel chief role, Alexander served as the company's chief operating officer since Syncro's inception in 2017.

Sycro has appointed Tim Lasonde as its new channel chief.

Lasonde's appointment follows a number of other changes to the executive suite at Syncro, starting with the appointment of a new CEO. Former Continuum CEO Michael George was named as the company's new leader days after Emily Glass said on LinkedIn that she was stepping down from that job.

Last week, Syncro appointed Dee Zepf as chief product officer.

Syncro is backed by Mainsail Partners, which describes itself as a growth equity firm for bootstrapped companies. New Syncro CEO Michael George has a previous relationship with investors from this firm who also were involved with private equity firm Summit Partners, the PE firm that invested in George's previous company, Continuum.

More About Syncro's New Channel Chief

Lasonde, with over twenty years of experience in the MSP industry, takes over from Ian Alexander, co-founder of Syncro, who will now serve as a strategic advisor within the company.

In his role as channel chief, Lasonde will lead strategic development initiatives and seek to improve Syncro’s relationship with its channel partners, the company said in a statement.

Industry Expertise to Support Growth

Lasonde's career has seen him transition from technician to president and COO at NSK — where he led NSK's evolution into a subscription-based MSP and through a subsequent acquisition by Focus Technology — and this varied experience aligns well with Syncro's strategic goals.

As senior VP of managed services at Focus Technology, Lasonde was pivotal in driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction improvements, experiences that are anticipated to benefit Syncro.

Michael George, CEO, Syncro, commented:

"I am excited to have Tim join the team. He brings a wealth of MSP operational knowledge to our business. Tim will help us build a stronger connection to our MSP partners and support our goal of helping them operate more efficiently and profitably."

Ahmed Fadili, vice president of managed IT services and cloud operations, Focus Technology, said:

"Tim's progression from a technician to an executive leading a successful MSP business makes him a strong advocate for Syncro’s partners. His market insight and customer relationships will enable the company to offer comprehensive solutions that support MSP success."

Ian Alexander, Syncro’s former channel chief and co-founder, added:

"After 13 years in this role, it is time to hand the baton to the next generation of leaders who represent a new class of born-in-the-cloud MSPs. Tim’s path from technician to leadership exemplifies his understanding of our partners’ needs and his capability to integrate those needs into Syncro’s offerings."
