This is Scantron's third MSP-oriented buyout in the Omaha area. Earlier deals involved acquiring WRK Systems in 2017 along with P&L Technology in 2016. The company is headquartered in Minnesota, with additional locations in Research Triangle of North Carolina; and Columbia, Pennsylvania.

Scantron's overall IT services catalog now spans hardware, managed IT, managed print and project services. It sounds like Kim Larsen, VP of managed IT services at Scantron, will play a key role in driving the acquired IT Nexus business forward.

Executive Perspectives

Describing the deal, Scantron CEO Kevin Brueggeman said:

“Scantron is committed to delivering superior technology solutions and part of our strategic focus is to maximize our reach in markets like healthcare. By acquiring IT Nexus, we support that strategy and gain additional expertise that better supports national clients as well as those in the Omaha metro area.”

IT Nexus CEO Chuck King

Added IT Nexus CEO Chuck King:

“Scantron is a company that has the expertise and high-levels of customer service needed to ensure our clients continue to get best-in-class support. More importantly, we are fortunate to join a company that is clearly dedicated to the Omaha metro area as a local solutions provider. All of these things make it clear that becoming part of Scantron is the right move for IT Nexus and our customers.”

ChannelE2E reached out to Scantron for additional information about how the IT Nexus business will be managed and/or integrated into Scantron's existing MSP operations in Nebraska. The company offered these thoughts:

"Scantron is committed to maintaining its strong, decades-long relationship and investment in the Omaha metro area as well as providing coverage for national clients. Our plan is to integrate the IT Nexus team and capabilities into our technology solutions portfolio. IT Nexus operations will be incorporated into our existing Omaha operations. We look forward to working with the IT Nexus team in continuing to provide outstanding service to their clients.  CEO Chuck King will stay on in a consulting capacity as we align roles and capabilities within the organization."
