SailPoint Accelerated Application Management Helps MSPs Scale App Governance Faster

Most enterprises govern fewer than 50 applications, even though they may rely on hundreds or thousands. That gap leaves critical apps unmanaged and risks unchecked. SailPoint is trying to close that gap with its new Accelerated Application Management offering, a solution designed to bring intelligence and automation into application governance at scale.

Why It Matters

Traditional connectors for identity governance are slow and complex. They require deep application knowledge, long manual processes, and often external consultants. As a result, many apps never get connected to identity systems at all. Visibility alone doesn’t solve the issue - enterprises also need the ability to prioritize which applications carry the greatest risk and then apply governance automatically.

"Enterprises today are merely scratching the surface of application governance, and our new offering aims to address this industry challenge,” Chandra Gnanasambandam, CTO and EVP of Product at SailPoint told ChannelE2E.

"SailPoint Accelerated Application Management combines continuous discovery with zero-touch onboarding and risk-based prioritization to onboard thousands of applications in rapid time. Where previously it might take weeks of effort to onboard a single application, now organizations can facilitate quicker compliance and scale across their entire environment.”

What the Platform Does

Accelerated Application Management is built on SailPoint’s Atlas platform and combines continuous application discovery with governance automation. The platform includes:

  • Application visibility and intelligence: Continuous discovery of inventory, ownership, usage, and risk signals, including compromised credentials.
  • Faster compliance: Zero-touch onboarding via Express Setup for access reviews, least privilege enforcement, leaver workflows, and audit-ready reporting.
  • Deeper governance: Automated provisioning and deprovisioning, lifecycle management, self-service, and AI-driven policy enforcement.

"Traditional connector-heavy models often result in increased complexity, hefty costs, and limited coverage,” Gnanasambandam said. "Applications in large enterprises constantly evolve with the business needs and this requires not just great tooling and IP, but also a human touch to help address the ‘last mile’ complexity. This combination will help SailPoint deliver real application onboarding outcomes.”

He added that Accelerated Application Management embeds intelligence into the governance process, enabling automatic discovery, risk assessment, and streamlined onboarding. "Paired with our expert-led service offering, teams can leverage zero-touch onboarding at scale and tap into AI-driven insights and automation to enforce policies, streamline remediation, automate privileged tasks, and make faster decisions.”

A Strategic Move

Alongside the launch, SailPoint announced an agreement to acquire key assets from Savvy, a SaaS visibility and monitoring provider. The move is aimed at strengthening application intelligence across the platform.

“Following a successful completion of the contemplated acquisition, we intend to plug Savvy’s best-in-class SaaS application visibility and intelligence into SailPoint’s offerings for combined real-time visibility into identity risks and threats,” Gnanasambandam said.

“Savvy’s unique approach not only provides user entitlement level visibility, but also delivers other intelligence parameters, such as whether an application is risky. This integration will help organizations see more of their application environment as well as enable them to take swift, automated action to combat risk.”

Partner Implications

The solution isn’t just for enterprises. MSSPs and MSPs face similar challenges onboarding and governing applications across client environments.

“While Accelerated Application Management was initially designed to help enterprises scale internally, its benefits can certainly extend to managed service providers,” Gnanasambandam said.

“Zero-touch onboarding and automated governance workflows mean MSPs can bring hundreds of applications under management across multiple client environments in a fraction of the time. The built-in intelligence further helps partners prioritize which applications to govern first based on risk, ensuring they can deliver measurable security and compliance outcomes quickly without the bottlenecks of manual setup and customization.”
