OptConnect Acquires M2M DataGlobal to Enhance Connectivity Services

OptConnect, a managed wireless services provider, has acquired M2M DataGlobal, a Latin American-based IoT company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

OptConnect, founded in 2009, is based in Kaysville, Utah. The company has 73 employees listed on LinkedIn. OptConnect’s areas of expertise include Wireless Connectivity, M2M, IoT, Managed Service, ATM, Smart Safe, Micro Market, POS, Kiosk, Digital Signage, Modems, and SIM Cards.

M2M DataGlobal, founded in 2012, is based in Santiago, Chile. The company has 58 employees listed on LinkedIn. M2M’s areas of expertise include IoT, Internet of Things, Machine to Machine, Conectividad, Big Data, Management, Tracking, Rastreo, Telemetria, Security, Seguridad, LAN/WAN, and Network.

With over a decade of experience in the IoT industry, M2M offers diverse hardware products and connectivity solutions throughout the Americas. With this acquisition, OptConnect says it aims to enhance its capabilities in delivering wireless connectivity solutions across North and South America.

Post-acquisition, M2M will operate under its existing name, M2M DataGlobal, and maintain its headquarters in Santiago, Chile. Elionae Silva will remain as General Manager, with Felix Lluberes and Rob Adams serving as advisors, the company said.
