Hybrid multicloud computing vendor Nutanix has added multi-tenant cloud capabilities and other service enhancements to its Nutanix Elevate Service Provider Program to expand partner capabilities and help them differentiate in the market. The multi-tenant capabilities will be delivered through a new Nutanix Service Provider Central control plane, enabling service providers to run, manage, and isolate multiple tenants on shared Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure. These capabilities are expected to be available in the second half of 2026.Service Provider Central will provide a centralized control portal, giving individual tenants a private cloud environment where they can manage their own compute, storage, networking, identity, and authorization. At the same time, service providers will retain centralized operational control and governance of the infrastructure.Sachin Chheda, Nutanix’s vice president of strategic partnerships for service providers and global system integrators, told ChannelE2E that Service Provider Central, when used with the Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP), will help providers better manage infrastructure utilization while allowing tenants to handle common management tasks without compromising provider control.“The inspiration for the Powered by Nutanix: Verified Solution program came from both end-user customers who wanted to identify services they can choose with confidence and from service providers who wanted a way to highlight and differentiate their services,” said Chheda. In addition, Nutanix has unveiled a new “Powered by Nutanix: Verified Solution” program, which will provide earned skills verifications to certify that partners meet Nutanix’s best practices and architectural standards. The program is launching with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) verified solutions, including private cloud, disaster recovery as a service, and sovereign cloud offerings. Additional verifications are planned for cloud-native, platform engineering, and AI services. The new partner services were announced at the company’s recent Nutanix .NEXT Conference in Chicago.A big motivation for the new services is to provide cloud environment support and help to service providers that are losing their previous cloud relationships with Broadcom and VMware since Broadcom's 2023 acquisition of VMware and its multiple moves to dump smaller partners and customers, said Chheda.“The Service Provider Central offering, the Verified Solution program, and a limited-time promotional offer will not only help service providers who have been affected by Broadcom’s changes but also support VARs and services-focused system integrators exploring the option of becoming service providers,” said Chheda. “We are seeing strong traction globally.”The promotional incentive was shaped by feedback from service providers who had previously worked with Broadcom and VMware, many of whom raised concerns about the “double license cost” they could face when transitioning to Nutanix."As service providers are looking for an alternative to VMware, Service Provider Central will help these providers build an efficient and effective foundation for delivering Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)," said Chheda. "The Service Provider Central offering will help service providers quickly onboard their tenants on existing infrastructure and give them control over areas like IDP, network, compute and storage provision within their allocated Infrastructure, and more. It is delivered through Nutanix Central in a scalable fashion and has automated workflows for common tasks. This improves a provider’s service delivery experience."Under the incentive program, Nutanix is offering onboarding help to accelerate service provider transitions from VMware. Eligible providers can access Nutanix software at a special per-month cost during an initial promotional period on new three-year or longer consumption subscriptions tied to VMware replacements. The incentive program aims to assist service providers so they can avoid paying full costs for both platforms during their migrations, according to Nutanix.Nutanix provides a unified software platform for running applications, deploying enterprise AI workloads and managing data wherever it is located.
