Panasonic Connect has introduced the TOUGHBOOK 34 and TOUGHBOOK G3, two rugged 2-in-1 PCs designed for frontline workers in utilities, public safety, government, field service, warehouses and automotive environments. The 12.4-inch TOUGHBOOK 34 replaces the TOUGHBOOK 33 with a larger display and lighter 2.9-pound tablet design, while the more compact 10.1-inch G3 weighs 2.7 pounds. Both carry an IP66 rating, are tested to MIL-STD-810H standards and are rated to survive drops of up to six feet in tablet mode.
The new systems pair Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with 16GB to 64GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 7, optional 5G and GPS, along with an integrated NPU for supported on-device AI workloads. Panasonic has also retained features aimed specifically at long field shifts, including hot-swappable batteries. The TOUGHBOOK 34 can reach a claimed 18 hours with two batteries, while the G3 offers battery configurations rated for as long as 23 hours. Customers can also configure modules including barcode readers, authentication readers, additional USB or Ethernet connections and other job-specific options.
For MSPs and integrators serving organizations with frontline workers, the refresh creates opportunities beyond the initial hardware sale. Configurable ports, private cellular support, ruggedized designs and compatibility with many existing accessories can help partners tailor deployments around specific industries while potentially reducing the disruption of fleet upgrades. The user-replaceable modules also give partners room to adapt devices as customer requirements change rather than replacing entire systems.
