All three of those businesses grew in 2018, Ingram indicates, although the company generally does not disclose specific profit and loss figures for its various business operations.

In an internal announcement about Kohl's role, Senior VP Advanced Solutions Tim Ament wrote:

“Under Kohl’s leadership, Ingram Micro’s security business has grown to stand out as an indispensable partner to our channel partners. In addition to welcoming new vendors, new associates and introducing a number of new offerings including Ingram Micro’s Security-as-a-Service programs and new 2019 Security Practice Builder program, Kohl and team earned several accolades from the vendor community in 2018, many resulting in back-to-back Distributor of the Year wins. Kohl’s contributions to our security business are countless, and the relationships he and his team have established are critical to our past and ongoing success.”

Kohl has been with Ingram Micro for two decades and continues to report to Ament.

Eric Kohl's Focus Areas

Kohl has played a critical role in helping VARs and MSPs push deeper into the managed security services market. He has also helped Ingram Micro to build relationships with emerging and established cybersecurity vendors.

Kohl's focus on Ingram Micro Cloud Harmonics is particularly important. Ingram acquired that business in December 2017 to promote technical enablement services in the cybersecurity market.
