Huntress has acquired Inside Agent, a London-based company known for tightening Microsoft 365 environments against both external and insider threats.
The deal widens Huntress’ identity coverage and accelerates its work on a new Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM) solution aimed at helping organizations reduce risk from misconfigurations, excessive privileges, and credential misuse.
Identity-led attacks continue to rise. Findings from the 2025 Huntress Managed ITDR Report show that identity incidents now make up a large portion of security events, and many organizations still detect them only after an attacker has established persistence. That gap underscores why Huntress is shifting more energy toward preventative controls, not just detection. With Inside Agent now part of the Huntress ecosystem, the company is positioning itself to help partners and IT teams spot weak points long before stolen credentials or session tokens enter the picture.
Strengthening Identity Posture With Continuous Visibility
The upcoming ISPM offering is central to that strategy. Huntress plans to evaluate more than 100 configuration and privilege checks across customer environments, focusing on stale accounts, drift, excessive permissions, and the kinds of exposures adversaries depend on during early-stage reconnaissance. Inside Agent’s capabilities deepen that analysis by giving Huntress customers clearer visibility into Microsoft 365 posture, which is often where identity weaknesses lurk.
This broader identity push also ties into Huntress’ efforts to make its services more accessible to MSPs without adding operational overhead. The company recently partnered with Sherweb, the first time Huntress has ever been available through a distribution partner.
Jeremy Young, Community Growth Strategist at Huntress, explained the significance of that change to ChannelE2E: “Before now, Huntress has never been available through a distribution partner to MSPs. Both Sherweb and Huntress are focused on providing value, not just products. Sherweb and Microwarehouse have deeply rooted relationships with their partners. Huntress being available in the Sherweb marketplace unlocks a core requirement for many of those partners.”
That statement isn’t just about reach. It signals a shift in how Huntress wants partners to consume and operationalize its services. By meeting MSPs where they already manage procurement, Huntress reduces friction for teams that depend on streamlined buying and deployment workflows.
Making Adoption Easier for MSPs Through Sherweb
Operational simplicity is a major part of the Sherweb integration. Young noted, “Sherweb partners have always received the value-added benefits of their consolidated billing system and integrations. Months of work has happened behind the scenes to make sure Huntress can be billed properly in Sherweb systems. We’ve done this work so that partners won’t have to. They’ll get the benefit of Huntress billing seamlessly into the ecosystem that they’ve built their procurement and billing processes around.”
That behind-the-scenes preparation matters. MSPs often juggle multiple vendors, each with its own billing quirks. By embedding directly into the Sherweb marketplace, Huntress reduces administrative overhead and gives partners a smoother path to bundling, billing, and supporting identity security services alongside the rest of their stack.
As Huntress expands globally through Sherweb, the company is also making it clear that its approach to partner support remains unchanged. “Huntress is super excited to partner with Sherweb as we both expand our presence globally,” Young said. “Regardless of where our partners are, a few things will always remain true: Huntress supports Huntress Tech. Both from a product and a security perspective, partners will receive product and 24/7 SOC support directly from Huntress. This means Huntress always remains hands-on and partner-first, regardless of our partners’ location or fulfillment method.”
This emphasis on direct support reflects Huntress’ long-standing connection to the MSP community. Even as it scales through distribution, Huntress is holding onto the parts of its model that partners value most: access to its SOC, clear guidance from its product teams, and a more personal approach to security operations.
With Inside Agent now part of the platform and Sherweb making adoption easier, Huntress is building a more complete identity security story, one that blends posture management, threat detection, and operational simplicity into a single path for MSPs and IT teams looking to get ahead of identity-driven threats.
