Gradient MSP has always had one primary goal: To help MSPs make money.
This week, to further that goal, the company unveiled its latest free resource, MSP Studio. MSP Studio is an evolution of Gradient's MSP Price Benchmarking tool, which launched in August 2024 and is free for MSPs. More than 500 MSPs have already used the tool, and it includes more than $7 billion in MSP usage and sales data, Colin Knox, CEO and co-founder of Gradient MSP, told ChannelE2E.
"Half of the industry doesn't make any money, right? So we thought, 'If we've got all this pricing data, we can help [MSPs] see how much they can charge and how much their peers are charging,'" Knox said. "We wanted to bring that together to help MSPs figure out and improve their pricing strategies. But the next step is helping them let people know about it," he said.
That's where MSP Studio comes in, Knox said. In addition to the benchmarking tool and education, there are additional resources addressing other areas for MSP growth, including 12 marketing toolkits from sponsoring vendors, Knox said. These include Sherweb, Augmentt, Barracuda, Breach Secure Now, CyberFOX, Enclave, Hudu, Huntress, and Keeper, among others.
MSP Studio also includes educational webinars, special offers, and vendor discounts. Like the benchmarking tool, MSP Studio is available free of charge, but it's behind a registration wall.
"We went out and built a whole bunch of professionally designed campaigns and tool kits for MSPs to use. It's a year's worth of turnkey marketing; a blog post at least once a week, social posts, all the graphics and email sequences and lead magnets, and everything they need to have the right pricing, to educate their customers and help them set them up for success. We put all of this together into a single hub of resources for MSPs across educational, quick-bite content. These are short-form, two to three-minute micro-learning tips and advice from experts across a whole variety of topics and areas of business," Knox explained.
There are currently 11 vendors supporting MSP Studio, and Knox said more have already reached out to get involved. While the MSP price benchmarking tool had a longer 'beta' time, the MSP Studio began with a single launch each month in October, November, and December 2024. The response was incredible, he said.
"We built and released a sample marketing toolkit each month through October, November, and December to see if it was something that MSPs would want, would be interested in, and use. The lowest one had 150 MSPs download it in short order. So it showed us how starved they were for stuff like this," Knox said.
While Knox's ideal is that every MSP makes use of these free resources, he considers it a success if even just one MSP benefits.
"We, of course, want every MSP in the world to use it and benefit. But, really, as long as a few are getting value from it and seeing success, it makes it worthwhile for us. We're just going to keep trying to get this in the hands of as many MSPs as possible to level up the industry, help the market, help them grow their business, and help them make money," Knox said.
