Flexera Enhancing Its FinOps Platform Through 2 More Acquisitions

Software asset management and cloud management vendor Flexera is boosting the features of its AI-powered FinOps platform by acquiring two companies that will add deeper AI capabilities to its platform.

Under the deals, Flexera purchased ProsperOps, which offers AI-enabled FinOps automation for public cloud, and Chaos Genius, which provides AI-driven cost optimization services for Snowflake and Databricks.

The acquisitions will help Flexera get more involved in specialized areas of FinOps for AI and FinOps for data clouds, according to the company. The financial details of the transactions were not disclosed.

Michael Jerich, president of Flexera, told ChannelE2E that the acquisitions will broaden opportunities for MSPs and other channel partners to support cloud, AI, and data cost optimization by delivering autonomous savings and real-time intelligence.

“With ProsperOps and Chaos Genius, Flexera has furthered its ability to offer our partners the broadest and deepest offering for both visibility into their customers’ technology investments and automated opportunities to optimize and reduce spend, along with the correlated value their customers receive from those investments,” said Jerich.

Partners will now be able to sell and operate optimization-as-a-service for cloud and modern data platforms, which will broaden their services and revenue, he said. “Our partners are excited by our expanding ability to offer them new solutions to acquire new clients, expand their footprint and value for existing clients, and solidify retention with existing clients.”

The company’s channel partner program includes system integrators, value-added resellers, managed service providers, cloud service providers, hyperscalers, and independent software vendors.

“Customers have asked for more action-oriented automation and less manual work, especially with the push to do more with AI,” said Jerich. “With ProsperOps and Chaos Genius’ intelligent automation capabilities, Flexera can accelerate what we deliver in areas where costs make a significant impact, including cloud commitments and data clouds like Snowflake and Databricks.”

Business users and their organizations are looking for complete visibility across their technology budgets and want to continuously optimize that spending, said Jerich. “With Flexera, there is no broader or deeper FinOps solution available to our partners to help them meet these requirements for our mutual customers. These acquisitions further our leadership position in the breadth of visibility and automation capabilities across the fastest-growing technology investment sectors.”

In January 2025, Flexera acquired NetApp’s Spot FinOps platform in what had been its most recent move in a long list of acquisitions.

More About ProsperOps and Chaos Genius

Following its acquisition by Flexera, ProsperOps will continue to operate under its own brand name to ensure continuity for customers and partners as it is integrated with Flexera’s FinOps features, according to the company.

ProsperOps uses an autonomous approach to managing cloud usage across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, allowing enterprises to achieve budget savings beyond passive recommendations, Flexera said. ProsperOps supports finance, engineering, and procurement teams with intelligent automation without the need for human intervention.

Chaos Genius’ data FinOps platform provides capabilities that allow enterprises to optimize costs across modern data clouds, including Snowflake and Databricks, using spending observability, intelligent recommendations, and autonomous agents to optimize data and AI costs.

Flexera provides hybrid IT asset management (ITAM) and FinOps services that help customers track and manage software, SaaS applications, hardware, cloud instances, containers, and other business assets.
