Atos Acquires Big Data Consultancy DataSentics

Global IT consulting firm Atos has acquired DataSentics, a Czech Republic-based data science company specializing in the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) business solutions and products, Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is technology M&A deal number 668 that ChannelE2E has covered so far in 2021.

The DataSentics acquisition comes as Atos attempts to jumpstart its overall business growth, while also considering potential asset sales.

DataSentics, founded in 2016, employs roughly 10  AI/ML data scientists and engineers. The company supports large enterprises in central and western Europe. Key verticals served include  financial services, retail and media industries, the seller indicated.

Atos is a global solutions provider focusing on digital transformation, cybersecurity, cloud and high performance computing. Atos has 107,000 employees and annual revenue of over € 11 billion.

Atos, armed with DataSentics, will create a global AI/ML 'factory' to deliver solutions to enterprise customers in all industries, the buyer indicated.

In a prepared statement about the deal, Pierre Barnabé, executive vice president, head of big data and security at Atos, said:

"This is a fantastic opportunity to expand our existing AI/ML capabilities. With DataSentics we are strengthening our global AI/ML factory which is already leveraging the expertise from our recent acquisitions in this area: zData, Miner & Kasch and Ipsotek.”

The deal is expected to close in Q4 2021.
