1. Self Service, Bots and IT Service Desks: Customer-led automation will reshape self-service technologies, Gartner asserts.

2. AI and ITSM: Although artificial intelligence (AI) has been misrepresented in some ways and overhyped in others, the technology has already brought about transformation in the ITSM (IT service management) field, Symphony Summit Chief Product Officer Akhil Sahai asserts.

3. M&A - Mobile Chips: Infineon has agreed to buy Cypress Semiconductors in a deal that values the U.S. maker of microchips used in cars and electronic devices at 9 billion euros ($10.1 billion) including debt, sending shares in the German company lower on concerns over the cost, Reuters notes.

4. Funding - Mainframe to Cloud Migrations: CloudFrame, a software company that helps customers modernize mainframe applications for cloud services, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding. The New York Angels led the investment round with participation from existing and new investors.

5. Slack Financial Results, IPO Date: Slack's revenue grew 67 percent to $134.8 million in its first quarter. But net losses also grew -- reaching a $31.9 million loss for the three months ended April 30 -- up 28 percent from last year, Bloomberg reports. The cloud application company is preparing for a June 20 IPO.

6. Nutanix Struggles: Business over at hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) software specialist Nutanix continues to struggle. CEO Dheeraj Pandey pointed to recent sales hires to help reassure Wall Street that business will improve. But investors remain highly skeptical.

7. Cloud Migration Challenges: Two-thirds of large enterprises are not realizing the full benefits of their cloud migration journeys identifying security and the complexity of business and operational change as barriers, according to a new report from Accenture.

8. Google Cloud Outage - Lessons Learned:  Google on Sunday resolved network issues in the eastern United States that affected services in Google Cloud, G Suite and YouTube, Reuters reports. The issues surfaced only six weeks after Google claimed its public cloud is more reliable than Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The lesson: Marketing your business around reliability is a risky move.
