How TSPs Can Shift the Cybersecurity Paradigm
Today’s cybersecurity landscape is more challenging than ever before. The COVID-19 pandemic and the shift of many SMBs to remote workforces exposed new security vulnerabilities for TSPs and their clients. These security gaps acted as unlocked backdoors that let malicious hackers into networks and information.
Knowing all of this, you might be surprised to learn that while cybersecurity presents the greatest risk, more importantly, it offers the greatest opportunity for today’s TSPs.
Why? The reasoning is simple. Both TSPs and their SMB clients are in the crosshairs of increasingly sophisticated ransomware, business email compromise (BEC), phishing, and other types of cyberattacks. As an expert, you know legacy protections like antivirus software and network firewalls are no longer sufficient—but they need a solution that works.
You’ve seen the evolution of cybersecurity. And while today’s landscape is overwhelming, if you can offer the support your clients need to regain a sense of normalcy and protect them from future threats, there are a lot of opportunities.
Historically, the industry’s answer to the TSP’s unique security challenges has been to add another tool. But when every new challenge equates to a new tool, you end up creating chaos. More accurately, it’s a Silos of Chaos situation with too many discrete security data sources that are difficult to manage. It also makes it nearly impossible to synthesize into insights to inform smart decision making.
It’s clear that silos aren’t efficient or cost-effective, and they can create dangerous gaps in terms of cybersecurity. In order to find success in the post-COVID-19 era, TSPs have to rethink security strategies and learn how to accommodate the new security landscape. This includes monitoring their customers’ needs and adjust sales, service, and training accordingly.
ConnectWise is addressing this new reality by building a cybersecurity ecosystem. With the necessary education and training, framework, products, services, and community, TSPs are now empowered to sell and support cybersecurity more successfully. This includes both standalone or bundled/integrated with our business and/or unified management products.
Our goal was to enable TSPs and their SMB clients to adopt an advanced, holistic, and integrated approach to cybersecurity. Our solution leverages advanced managed detection and response (MDR) capabilities that are designed to protect endpoints (EDR), network devices, and Microsoft cloud-based productivity suites such as Microsoft 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. And they are all backed by global SOC operations based on SIEM technology that was purpose-built for MSPs and operates 24/7/365.
The key to our success is an increasingly automated SOC supported by a highly functional, flexible, and holistic cybersecurity platform that allows for both proprietary and third-party products. But before we dive into those exciting details, let’s take a step back and talk about our ‘why.’
At ConnectWise, our mission is “To empower technology solution providers to realize their vision of success.” In order to do this, we can’t rest on good enough. We have to be innovative, figure out what’s the missing piece of the puzzle, and seek out the technology and partnerships that can amplify our mission for our partners—for you.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our acquisition of the award-winning and market-leading Perch SIEM and the highly-rated StratoZen SOAR technologies. Together, this presents the opportunity for a revolutionary paradigm shift in how TSPs address their cybersecurity needs and enables us to support each of the three engagement models (DIY/DWY/DFY) demanded by our partners.
Cybersecurity has always been a moving target—and likely will continue to be a moving target. But we hope you’ll find confidence knowing that as cybercriminals become more sophisticated, so do we. We’re here for the long-haul to help TSPs like you support their clients.
