MessageOps: Deja Vu Cloud Success for MSPs

When it comes to cloud management tools for MSPs, MessageOps has done it  — again. Indeed, MessageOps Evangelist and Champion Solutions Group CEO Chris Pyle has a knack for launching cloud- and MSP-oriented software and associated management tools.

Plenty of folks remember Pyle’s earlier launch — the 365 Command tool, which MessageOps ultimately sold to Kaseya in in 2013. 365 Command, which is designed to manage Office 365, replaces the command line interface of Windows PowerShell with a user-friendly web-based interface. The net result? MSPs embraced the platform for common, time-saving Office 365 management tasks.

Fast forward to present day, and MessageOps is back with an encore. This time, the big push involves a range of Microsoft cloud management tools. True believers include Autotask, which leverages MessageOps to power its new CSP Boss software — the company’s response to ConnectWise CloudConsole.

Admittedly, I don’t know how well MessageOps is performing overall as a business. But the company seems ideally situated to ride the MSP cloud management wave. In some ways, MessageOps potentially competes with distributor cloud marketplaces, which help VARs and MSPs to source and manage Microsoft’s cloud offerings.

Interest the MessageOps offerings appears strong. Microsoft mentioned the company during a keynote at Autotask Community Live this morning in Hollywood, Florida.

Intrigued, ChannelE2E headed over to MessageOps’ booth after the keynote. Pyle and I made some smalltalk. But time was scarce amid the booth traffic. I’ll be sure to grab him in the halls during session breaks over the next 24 hours…
