Salesforce and Databricks are expanding their partnership to help enterprises connect governed data, business context, and workflows across both platforms as more companies deploy AI agents across business operations. The companies said the expanded partnership builds on their existing Zero Copy work between Salesforce Data 360 and Databricks Unity Catalog. New governance capabilities include federated authentication, planned identity mapping, governance interoperability, and metadata-aware access controls. The idea is to help organizations apply more consistent permissions, policies, and trust controls across Salesforce and Databricks rather than recreating those controls in separate systems.Salesforce and Databricks are also adding new cross-platform discovery and action capabilities. Federated Search will allow Agentforce agents to search Databricks, and Databricks users to search Salesforce. MuleSoft Agent Scanners for Databricks will provide visibility into Agent Fabric, while the companies are also exploring how Agentforce agents could be surfaced through Databricks Unity AI Gateway. These updates are aimed at giving agents more context while keeping access, governance, and workflow controls in place. The partnership also extends into Slack, where new integrations will bring Databricks-powered insights, AI experiences, and security workflows into daily work channels. MuleSoft Agent Scanner for Databricks and foundational Data 360 Zero Copy capabilities are generally available now. Data 360 enhancements, Slack Genie App general availability, agentic search, MCP-driven integrations, and broader capabilities are expected to roll out in the second half of 2026 and beyond.
