General Informatics has acquired New Orleans-based managed service provider GlobeNet, deepening its cybersecurity bench and expanding its presence across key industries in Louisiana, reports CRN. The move brings GlobeNet’s engineering-heavy team under the General Informatics umbrella, with all 10 employees joining the company. The deal enhances General Informatics’ threat response capabilities and broadens its vertical footprint in healthcare and maritime, two sectors where GlobeNet already has strong relationships. The acquisition also helps General Informatics scale its security operations. By integrating GlobeNet’s vetted toolsets and CISO services with its own, the company expects to offer a more standardized and efficient cybersecurity portfolio. This is part of a larger strategy to combine talent and capabilities across both organizations and respond more effectively to growing demand for managed security services. Rather than trimming staff, the focus is on expansion—leveraging the strengths of each company to build a more robust offering.Beyond security, the acquisition opens cross-selling opportunities for General Informatics’ cloud and AI services. With data centers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, General Informatics plans to offer GlobeNet customers enhanced access to both public and private cloud services, along with AI tools built on a secure, closed-loop platform. These offerings include internal and external chatbots, Copilot consulting, and licensing for Microsoft applications—all designed with enterprise security and customization in mind. This marks General Informatics’ eighth acquisition and signals continued momentum in its growth strategy under Rosewood Private Investments. For GlobeNet, the deal means access to greater scale, broader service capabilities, and relief from the constraints of a small, founder-led operation. For General Informatics, it’s another step toward solidifying its role as a regional leader in cybersecurity, cloud services, and AI innovation.
