Commvault Expands HyperScale Portfolio

Commvault has introduced two new offerings within its HyperScale portfolio: HyperScale Edge and HyperScale Flex, reports Silicon Angle. Both are designed to address the growing demands of data protection and cyber resilience as organizations manage rising data volumes across remote sites, branch offices, and high-performance environments.

HyperScale Edge targets remote and distributed locations where IT resources and space are often limited. Delivered as a software image for hardware from Dell, HPE, and Lenovo, the solution gives localized protection and recovery capabilities. It’s aimed at keeping branch and SMB environments resilient against ransomware while still tying back into broader enterprise protection strategies.

For larger organizations with more demanding workloads, HyperScale Flex focuses on high-performance environments in industries like telecom, healthcare, and technology. By integrating with external flash storage pools from providers such as Pure Storage, VAST Data, and soon HPE, Flex supports multipetabyte data sets and low-latency operations. This makes it suitable for AI and machine learning workloads where speed and scale are critical.

Both Edge and Flex reflect Commvault’s push to offer more tailored approaches to data protection, depending on the customer’s footprint. Edge addresses decentralized environments where ransomware exposure has grown sharply, while Flex is built for data-intensive enterprises that want to maximize existing infrastructure investments. HyperScale Edge is available today through subscription or perpetual licensing, while HyperScale Flex is open to early adopters through Commvault’s sales program.
