First MSP Merger of 2017: Kite, AIS Combine Managed Services Businesses

In what may be the first MSP merger of 2017, Kite Technology Group and AIS Technology combined their operations today, the two MSPs have confirmed. Among their common areas of expertise: Serving the insurance agency vertical.

Kite Technology Group, headquartered in Owings Mills, Md., is an IT managed services provider supporting SMB customers primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region. Roughly 55 percent of Kite's revenue involves independent insurance agencies. The company's services include technology planning, network maintenance, help-desk support, and insurance agency operations consulting, Kite indicated.

AIS Technology is an MSP serving independent insurance agencies in 22 states. AIS also provides IT services to non-insurance companies in Wisconsin. The company's core services include technology projects, network maintenance, help-desk support, and backup/disaster recovery solutions, AIS stated.

The combined companies will now operate under the Kite Technology Group name. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed. The core owners include: Greg DiDio, Nick Oliver and Kite Technology Group founder Jeff Kite. The combined business is headquartered in Kite's Owings Mills, Md., offices.
