Atos Acquires Healthcare IT Services Provider for $275M

Atos is acquiring Anthelio Healthcare Solutions for $275 million. The deal's valuation is 8.5 times expected EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) for fiscal 2017, which outpaces the typical IT services provider M&A valuation.

Anthelio is a $200 million IT services provider and outsourcing specialist that boasts a $600 million sales backlog. The healthcare-focused company has been growing roughly 8 percent annually and has roughly 1,300 employees in the U.S. and 400 in India.

The all-cash deal, expected to close in before October, empowers Atos with multiple applications that address security, risk and compliance in the healthcare sector, the company asserts. Anthelio CEO Asif Ahmad will lead the newly formed Atos healthcare practice in the U.S.

Atos has been evaluating a range of IT consulting and services acquisitions this year. The company allegedly took a look at the former Dell IT services business (now owned by NTT).
