Champion Solutions Group has acquired Midrange Support & Service, Inc. (MSSi), which specializes in IBM i and Power solutions and services, the two companies confirmed today. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Champion Solutions Group is based in Boca Raton, Florida. Founded in 1979, the company has evolved to focus on virtualization, cloud, and data management solutions. Meanwhile, MSSi is based in Delray Beach, Florida. The company is an IBM Premier Business Partner that has over 20 years experience providing support and services to the IBM AS/400, iSeries and Power System customer community.
The deal creates cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the two companies' customer bases, Champion asserts. For instance:
- Champion can deliver IBM i services and support to the hundreds of IBM customers that Champion has acquired over the last 35 years. "Combining MSSi’s 20+ year heritage and intellectual property around IBM i (formerly iSeries and System i) with Champion’s extensive IBM history, including IBM Power, Storage and Software, will deepen Champion’s skills to meet and exceed the ever-growing demands from our clients," the two companies assert.
- MSSi customers now have access to Champion's portfolio of products and capabilities beyond IBM i, including Cisco, Microsoft, NetApp, Red Hat, VMware, and much more.
