But how was the deal hatched, and what are the near-term priorities? Sirius CEO Joe Mertens offers some answers in this brief follow-up with ChannelE2E.

ChannelE2E: When did Sirius first become aware of Continuum Security Solutions?

Mertens: The Continuum team has worked with Sirius on security project engagements as a subcontractor for several years. We’ve built an excellent relationship with them and the skills of their team are phenomenal.

ChannelE2E: When did discussions about a possible Continuum acquisition begin? What sparked the discussions?

Mertens: Over the past couple of years we developed a strong interest in combining our teams, which sparked numerous discussions.

ChannelE2E: How many employees will Sirius have now?

Mertens: Just under 2,000.

ChannelE2E: What are some of the first priorities for Sirius and the acquired business for 2017?

MertensSecurity is a top priority for our clients, and continuing to grow our services capabilities in this area is also a priority for Sirius. Combining the two organizations allows us to offer our client base of nearly 5,000 a more robust set of security solutions, which are tailored to meet their needs across the entire enterprise.
