ConnectWise has launched a free version of its Control (formerly ScreenConnect) remote access and support offering for technology solution providers (TSPs). Details about the new offering, called Control Free, surfaced amid IT Nation Europe 2017's launch in London this week.

Control Free helps TSPs -- everyone from VARs to MSPs and technology-centric support providers -- "to easily and cost-effectively launch a market-proven remote support service tool," ConnectWise said in a prepared statement.

Control Free provides a single license with three access agents and enables technicians to connect remotely to one end user per session. In addition, Control Free users can try Control Premium features for 14 days at no additional cost. Control Premium provides a full-service multiple technician license that allows up to 10 simultaneous sessions per technician and video auditing capabilities.

ConnectWise Control is part of the company's broader, rebranded software portfolio. The ConnectWise platform typically competes with various IT automation suites from Autotask, Continuum, Kaseya and SolarWinds MSP, among others.

ConnectWise's software portfolio helps TSPs to automate, manage and control customers' on-premises and cloud assets. A quote and proposal system also helps TSPs to focus on sales automation. CEO Arnie Bellini says the portfolio is performing well, fueling 22 percent growth at the 900-person company in Q1 2017.
