Good morning, channel partners. Here are five technology news updates, insights, chatter, and plenty more to start your day for Friday, August 4, 2017.

Actually, there are six timely updates designed for VARs, managed services providers (MSPs), cloud services providers (CSPs), independent software vendors (ISVs), telco master agents and telco agents to sip on. Take a look:

6. Office 365 Cloud BackupWorkForce Software, a provider of enterprise workforce management solutions, has adopted Druva to protect its Office 365 applications.

5. Kodak Alaris Partner Program: Kodak Alaris’ Information Management division (IM) has revamped its channel partner program, introducing new sales tools, incentives and technical resources designed to support partners. More than 90 percent of Kodak Alaris’ Information Management business is done via resellers and distributors, the company notes.

3. Earnings: Several technology companies have announced quarterly financial results in recent days. Among the results to watch...

  • CA Technologies on Wednesday raised its revenue guidance for fiscal year 2018, which suggests the software company is gaining more traction with its application-centric management messaging. CA has also bolstered its IT automation tools for service providers. Merger rumors involving CA and BMC had been swirling in recent months, but the alleged discussions ended when BMC worried about how long the deal may take to close, according to reports.
  • Carbonite revenues were $59 million in Q2 2017, up 10- percent from Q2 2016, the data protection company said yesterday. The company's earnings beat expectations but revenues were a bit below Wall Street's previous predictions.
  • New Relic revenues rose 37 percent to $80.1 million in Q1 2018 vs. Q1 2017, the company said yesterday. The company says it specializes in "digital intelligence" -- a fancy way of saying New Relic offers next-generation monitoring tools for web, cloud and mobile applications.

2. Networking Momentum: Arista shares surged in late trading as its sales of networking gear easily beat Wall Street expectations, and its outlook for this quarter's revenue also came in well ahead of earlier predictions, Barron's reported. Former Cisco executive Jayshree Ullal is CEO of the fast-growing company.

1. M&A Plus Talent Grab: Information Technology Procurement Sourcing (ITPS), a national provider of technology solutions and services, has recruited two executive advisors and made a key acquisition. Microsoft and Oracle veterans Vince Menzione and Adam Scott, respectively, have joined the company as executive advisors. Also, ITPS recently acquired Lefcon -- an IT managed services provider with offices in Pittsburgh, Denver and Chicago. What is ITPS CEO Eric Cunningham's vision for the company?
